Bermuda Triangle

Jan. 17, 2015, 6:44 p.m.

You know that weird middle ground existing between your favorite jeans and stuffy work slacks? The bermuda triangle of clothing. No one knows what inhabits this strangle land. Without having to explore the scary unknown, let me plot your course by telling you to invest in a jogger pant. Throw these sailors on with a tank, cute jacket, fun heels and a cap. Hello, mysterious land. We have discovered you.

Building

Jan. 13, 2015, 6:50 p.m.

Laying the foundation for a lifelong wardrobe can be daunting. Building blocks could be comprised of numerous materials, and drawing the plans may result in frustration and confusion. Let me put my fashion architect hat on and suggest the inception commence with a blazer and jeans. These crucial elements will be the foundation of your skyscaper. The amount of ways they can be styled is infinite resulting in a multiuse wardrobe.

Ask Love, Karis

Jan. 13, 2015, 10:27 a.m.

Thinking out loud, there is a new dimension I would like to layer on Love, Karis. Perhaps you would like to know what you should wear to the opera, or how to handle the guy suddenly not texting you back, or maybe you need some clarity with a career path you are considering. I want to hear about anything and everything on your mind. Can I change your world? Probably not. Will I certainly try? You betcha.

All posts will be anonymous, so do not worry about vulnerability. Trust me, more than likely, I have struggled with something similiar at a point in my life. Let me know how I can help you.

Send questions to asklovekaris@gmail.com.

From my heart to yours.

Something Old, Something New

Jan. 7, 2015, 11:48 p.m.

One of my new found treasures has been plundering through my grandmother's closet. Oh, the jewels! This beautiful woman had/has incredible taste. The map to discovering the art of vintage dressing is remembering to pair the pieces with modern clothing. This gives a flare of times gone by, a nostalgia if you will, however keeping the excitement of current trends.

Treasure Island meets National Treasure.

Signature Style

Jan. 2, 2015, 3:22 p.m.

Fashion is a journey, and style is the yellow brick that paves the way. Along that path, if you develop your signature style, aka your lion, tin man, and scarecrow, the path to Oz becomes much easier and definable. For me, defying gravity consists of pairing the unexpected. I don't have Dorothy's red heels, or Glinda's magic wand, hence forcing me to play the hand I have been dealt. Because of this, I have been changed for good. Leopard and navy are akin to Glinda and Elphaba, but with their spirits and voices combined, you have magic. Start paving your yellow brick road and develop a signature style. Yes, the path to Oz will change more than expected because you won't be in Kansas anymore.
