Unassuming, structured, approachable, organized, and creative are just a few of the adjectives describing my favorite scratchy voiced (super jealous of that, btw) style setter friend, Kara Warr. I somehow convinced her to peel back the curtain allowing me to share with you the inner workings of a put together princess hailing from a tomboy sans makeup wearing background.
My small talk, chit chat skills are pretty much non-existent. I am way more interested in what makes you tick- what gets you out of bed each morning-what flows through your veins and stimulates your every day. Thankfully, my girl indulged that desire and spent an afternoon giving me a true glimpse into the life of Kara. And I liked what I saw.
Describing herself as “phasey” (I mean, aren’t we all?? LOVE.), Kara’s color choice for interiors is white. “I change my mind a lot. With white, I can easily change my surroundings because the background is consistent.”
Not to be outdone by her interiors, Mrs. Warr’s fashion palette is just as refined. Garnering inspiration from blogs (heart that), books, and travel, her taste is eclectically simple. It’s girl next door meets designer. The best of Olivia Palermo’s decadence and Gwyneth Paltrow’s demureness. Her staples are delicious.
(Details on the blog tomorrow)
I mentioned creativity, right? Jewelry designer is another bullet point on Kara Strope Warr’s resume. Stemming from a college hobby, the jewels have now grown into a buzzing business including trunk shows and retail stores. Grassroots movement turned into successful campaign. I give you KSD.
There’s a saying out there somewhere claiming you can know a person by the books they read. Kara keeps it real with the pages by her nightstand. Well rounded is an understatement.
Strip everything away and the heart of the matter is summed up in the ring worn around her finger. The ultimate goal fueling Mama Kara is to be a godly wife, mother and stepmother. She has known her share of challenges in the twenty something years God has granted, but these have only served as learning experiences. Coupled with her obsession with vitamins (please rub off on me) her game plan is solid and execution is consistent.
On a daily basis, you can find my friend at Canterbury Clothiers where she is entrenched in the latest and greatest, searching for the pieces you and I want to buy. Since I know you are now as intrigued as I am, visit the blog tomorrow for her “it” list. You’ll want it all.

This may be sad, or perhaps I'm shameless, but herein lies the outfit I created for my imaginary presence at New York Fashion Week. Street style photos, front row runway seats, Olivia Palermo and I rubbing shoulders -the vision is clear.
One might call me the Little Engine. I think I can, I think I can, I thnk I can....

Selecting a nail color is stressful. There. I said it. Is that shallow? Absolutely. Is it honest? Unfortunately. Personally, I wanted to save some room in my worry bucket for my Fantasy Football team, so I did a little research which will allow me to sail into the fall nail trend colors with ease.
Good thing I drafted Peyton Manning because these babes are definitely first round material.
P.S. Take this quiz to discover your nail polish personality. I couldn't resist (insert demure giggle).
